Using Workspace ONE Admin Assistant

  • Download and Install the Workspace ONE Admin Assistant from here

  • Launch Workspace ONE Admin Assistant.


  • Drag and drop the Application or Application Installers (.app, .dmg, .pkg or .mpkg) in the Workspace ONE Admin Assistant

  • If you drop .app or .dmg, the tool creates a .dmg containing the file

  • If you drop .pkg or .mpkg, the tool creates a .pkg or .mpkg file

    • The tool does not modify the source .app or packages

  • pkginfo medadata plist file will also be created

  • Reveal in Finder will reveal the folder with application installer and metadata pkginfo plist file.

  • Edit the plist file in a text editor. Name, display_name and version are the few keys we might need to change based on the need.

  • The package and plist can be uploaded to Workspace ONE Console

  • Workspace ONE console will generate the unique Application ID ( based on the name key from the plist

  • Newer version number with the same name will be considered as an upgrade to the existing package

  • Preinstall and Postinstall script can be added in the console while uploading the package. Scripts can be edited whenever required.

  • Package and plist cannot be edited in the Workspace ONE Console. Same has to be updated by adding a new version.
